Netball

The My BD5 Netball Tournament will be held at Parkside 15.30 till 17.00 on Thursdays starting on January the 12th. It would be great if all staff could attend the first session to have a briefing about the rules even if your school isn't playing. I would like it to be as competitive as possible while not forgetting that these tournaments are meant to develop future athletes and young people.

We will be adopting an abridged version of the England netball High five rules that can be found on thier website. http://www.englandnetball.co.uk/my-game/high_5 there is a 9 minute video on there that explains most of the rules for anyone that is unsure. (Rules may be different to the high 5 video)

  • The tournament will be mixed but all girl teams are fine
  • Players don't have to rotate positions during a match but must rotate over the tournament (i.e. your best shooter can't play goal shooter every game.)
  • Squad can be 7 players with 5 playing at anytime
  • We will utilise the basketball court as the outer perimeter and shooting zones (with thirds marked for games)
  • Games will last 15 minutes
